Five Dock

Lifestyle
Five Dock is 10km from Sydney\'s CBD. It houses a large population of Italian immigrants who hold an annual street festival named Ferroagosto during the month of August, as they do in Italy. During 2003 and 2004, Canada Bay Council finished enhancements to the shopping strip by widening, repaving and fencing off footpaths, planting new trees and installing new street furniture.

Transport
Nearby there are ferry and train services. Five Dock is well-connected to the city centre and surrounding suburbs by many bus routes. There are 6 different bus routes from Circular Quay and one route to Concord Hospital. There is one route to Burwood Station and three different routes to Rockdale station taking in the suburbs of Arncliffe, Earlwood, Canterbury, Ashfield, Haberfield, Bexley, Kingsgrove, Croydon Park. There is one route to Hurstville Station and one to Wynyard Station.

• Five Dock boasts the best skateboard track in the southern hemisphere.
• The Five Dock retail and commercial centre is made up of a long line of shops, banks, restaurants and other services which run for about 500 metres along Great North Road. It features a high proportion of small local businesses, which range from hairdressers, florists and dentists to hardware stores, accountants, delicatessens and restaurants.
